The task: to recreate the tank shown in the film of the same name “Fury” (2014) as accurately as possible in 1:35 scale. The peculiarity of the composition is to capture the moment - in this case, the dynamic moment of firing from a 50 caliber machine gun.
More than 15 different models and kits were required to create this work. The prototype is an American medium tank M4A3E8 Sherman. Its model is built from 2 main kits - Tamiya and Dragon. The over-engine grille is an IDF conversion kit. The tracks are working ones from AFV.
4 sets of photo-etching were used, quite a lot was made independently - the exhaust grille, canvas covers attached to the turret, parts of the 30 caliber machine gun turret, straps for bags and backpacks.
More than 7 different sets were used to recreate the equipment carried on the tank (canisters, boxes, cartridge boxes, bags and backpacks of the crew, etc.) as well as unique parts of the exact tank that was shown in the film of the same name - a gas mask on the headlight, tracks and a wheel on the frontal armor and much more.
For the the 50 caliber machine gun, 3 sets of etching were used - the machine gun itself and the turret, the cartridge box and the machine gun belt with cartridges. It is fully working, assembled, like the original one, from separate links into which photo-etched cartridges are inserted. The work is given a special charm by chiseled spent machine gun casings, not made to scale, creating the effect of presence and helping to capture the dynamics.
The figures are converted MiniArt, supplemented with scratch built parts.
Painting using acrylic and oil paints, the basis is materials for the film, thematic photos and video materials on the topic were also analyzed.
This work won the Grand Prix of the international modeling competition held in Kyiv and many prizes at various modeling exhibitions.
